Emil Constantinescu ,born in Republic of Moldova, is a Romanian politician and scientist. He was president of Romania between 1996 and 2000.Since 1966 is professor of the Faculty of Geology, University of Bucharest.Author of 12 books and more than 60 studies on geology, published in prestigious scientific journals in the country and abroad. Honorary member and an elected member of geological and mineralogical Societies in the UK, Germany, USA, Greece, Japan, the Society of Geography in France and the U.S. National Geographic Society
