Title
Crissy Field Guardhouse Presidio San Francisco #285058603
Description
With military aviation becoming more common the United State Army needed more airfields and airstrips for their growing numbers of airplanes and pilots. With the US entry into WW1 in April 1917,in July 1918 Congress passed a law for establishing eight air defense stations, which included one at the Presidio San Francisco. This building from 1921 was the Guardhouse. After the airfield was closed in 1974,the building was used for an Army Medical Department office, until 1994 when the Army closed the Presidio base, and it has been just abandoned ever since. As seen 12 March 2018.
