Pictured is a relief of Saint Petronius on a wall of the Courtyard of Pilate in the Basilica of Saint Stephen in Bologna, Italy. According to tradition Saint Petronius, a bishop of the city during the 5th century, built the basilica over a temple of the goddess Isis. The saint wished to have a building that recalled the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. The relief depicts the body of Saint Petronius which was found in 1141 and laid in a shrine in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher until 2000 when his relics were moved to the Basilica of San Petronino, which already guarded the head of the patron saint of the city.
