Description

Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick and the billboard of The Producers, a musical adapted by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan from the 1968 film of the same name, with music and lyrics by Brooks and arrangements by Glen Kelly and Doug Besterman. As in the film, the story concerns two theater producers who hatch a plan to get rich: to create sensationalism in a Broadway show that is supposed to fail. Complications arise when the show unexpectedly turns out to be successful. The show's humor relies on ridiculous accents, caricatures of homosexuals and Nazis, and many show business jokes. Wax figures at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, New York City.
