Description
Pictured is a statue of the Franciscan friar, Saint Anthony of Padua and another Franciscan friar in a abutting niches in Bologna, Italy. The Franciscan friar is on Via Tagliapietre and Saint Anthony of Padua is on Via Urbana. He is holding a book and the infant child Jesus, two of his attributes. The building today is the Barracks Cialdini, the military command of the Emilo-Romagno army. But in 1456 at the request of the Franciscans and the governors of Bologna, Catherine of Bologna established the Monastery of Corpus Domini where she remained abbess there until her death in 1463.
