Pictured is the baptistry and memorial to Teresio Olivelli in the Basilica of Saint James in Bellagio, Italy. The mosaic of the Baptism of Christ is the work of the firm Castemari of Venice. The design was taken from the canvas by Borgognone in the church of Melegnano. The basin is by the sculptor Daverio of Bergamo. Teesio Olivelli was born in Bellagio and was a brave officer of the Alpini regiment and founder of the clandestine paper, The Rebel. He was bestowed with a gold medal for his bravery and was deported to the Nazi execution camp in Hersbruck where he gave his companions moral support and assistance right up to his death. He was declared blessed in 2018. The Basilica of Saint James is a Romanesque 12th century church that is the landmark church of the Municipality of Bellagio in the Province of Como in the Italian region of Lombardy.He was bestowed with a gold medal for his bravery and was deported to the Nazi execution camp in Hersbruck where he gave his companions moral support and assistance right up to his death in the camp. He was declared blessed in 2018.
