Piatra Secuiului (Szekelyko in Hungarian) is a barren mountain peak east of Rimetea, Alba, part of the Trascaului Mountains, also known as Trascaului's Fangs. Piatra Secuiului is a limestone massif located between the villages of Rimetea and Pietroasa, on the border between Alba and Cluj counties. The formation's two summits are pierced by a steep ravine, causing the sun to rise twice for an observer to the west of the formation. The main constitutive rock of Pietra Secuiului is limestone, which in some places reaches a thickness of 400-700 meters. Limestone from different geological periods, with a preponderance of the Mesozoic, Jurassic and Cretaceous, confirms the fact that the area was a sea floor for millions of years. Limestone was mainly formed by the deposition of calcareous shells of warm water marine animals (corals, clams, snails). At its top, sedimentary rocks, white limestone, and gray-brown volcanic rocks were deposited side by side by mountain-forming forces.
