The Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia, opened on 11th July 1998, houses one of the most important contexts of Etruscan civilisation, which owes its own commercial and cultural development principally to the steel and iron activity. There are a lot of tombs. The etruscan tumulus called the tomb of the funerary beds is situated in the necropolis of San Cerbone and is dated to the 7th century BC.
