Description
An architectural monument of federal significance, an administrative building located in the center of St. Petersburg at Sadovaya Street, 55-57 and Voznesensky Prospekt, 40-42. The house was assigned a double number because it was built on the land of two house plots. The architect is Alexander Lvovich Lishnevsky, the stucco decor was executed in the workshops of I. V. Zhilkin and N. I. Egorov. It was built in 1904-1906 to accommodate a number of city institutions in the building. During its existence, neither the spatial structure nor the author's facade decor have undergone particularly significant changes. The house is made in a mixed style, individual elements of the facade are attributed to Art Nouveau, pseudo-Gothic and other stylistic trends.
