Description
OstrichLand is a unique type of ranch between Solvang and Buellton,in Santa Barbara County California, that raises Ostrich,as the name implies,as well as the related Emu,both flightless birds. Santa Barbara was picked for the resemblance to their native Africa and Australia in both terrain and climate. Unlike a petting zoo,you can not pet them,as they might bite, but you can feed them. Ostrich,Struthio camelus, are the biggest living birds, with the largest egg of all land animals. The Ostrich has only two toes, with the nail on only the larger one. Emu,Dromaius novaehollandaie, have three toes, with a nail on each. Being on open land, the California ground squirrel will make an appearance also. As enjoyed on 27 May 2023.
