On Thursday, November 7, 2019, the City unveiled the gigantic colorful iconic letters of San José del Cabo painted and donated by the artist Iván Guadarrama. The Mission was first founded and built in April, 1730 by the Spanish Jesuit Friar Nicolas Tamaral and the visiting father Jose Echevarria. . The mission was dedicated to Saint Joseph and was built on the site that the native pericúes called Añuití.
