This sign welcomes 440,000 visitors each year, the majority arriving from cruise ships via tour bus, as they arrive at Mendenhall Glacier outside Juneau in southeast Alaska. Part of the Tongass National Forest, visiting Mendenall Glacier is one of the primary cruise port excursions/attractions from Juneau, Alaska. People can kayak, hike nature trails and even walk and dogsled up on the glacier itself.
