The island of Evia is one of the closest islands to Athens, and at the same time one of the most unknown. The reason for this phenomenon is that Evia itself is huge, the second largest island in Greece after Crete. It stretches from the Pelion Peninsula all the way to the shores of Attica. However, the connections to the island are not very good, so the island is not so touristy.
