Marcellus Theater Rome #289804572
Description
It almost looks like a small Colosseum, the Marcello Theater, the architecture is very reminiscent of it, although the Colosseum is circular while the theater has a semicircular structure, and the excellent state of conservation makes it stand out even more. However, construction began over 80 years later, under Julius Caesar, and was completed under Augustus who gave it its name, dedicating it to his nephew Marcellus who he had designated as his heir, who died prematurely. Teatro Marcello could accommodate up to a maximum of 20,000 spectators.
