Madeleine Haas Russell,beside being the great grandniece of Levi Strauss,was also heiress to the Haas family,had this home built in 1951. It was built by Erich Mendelsohn,his only work of a private residence in the United States as well as one of his last works. It is very difficult to tell from the street that this home has four floors,but being a private residence,it is also surrounded by a very tall wall and trees,for privacy. Please show respect.
