Visitors are looking China's traditional New Year paintings on a exhibition in the National Library of China,on February 2, 2013.The National Library of China will host an exhibition of the country's traditional New Year paintings during the Spring Festival holiday. The library has selected 120 traditional Chinese New Year paintings from its pool of 4,000 pieces. Artisans of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage works are also contributing to the exhibition with art works and on-site demonstrations. The paintings on display show traditional Chinese holiday decorations, with some inspired by Chinese fairy tales. The oldest pieces go back to the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).Featuring lectures, online presentations, videos and oral history material, the exhibition aims to revive the Memory of the Chinese New Year.
