Alaska Hoonah Harbor Fishing Boats #29020146
Description
A few of the commercial and recreational fishing boats in the harbor in the town of Hoonah in southeast Alaska. Fishing and timber harvesting are the two main industries and are the economic foundation for the community. Hoonah is the largest native Tlingit community in the Pacific Northwest, and a growing summer cruise ship destination thanks to nearby Icy Strait Point. Alaska has a short but intense summer cruise season, with nearly a million cruise ship visitors each year. Icy Straight Point is the smallest and newest cruise port, served by several of the major cruise lines including Royal Caribbean and Celebrity.
