Beddgelert bridge, North Wales #29139837
Description
The main junction in Beddgelert, North Wales, is this ancient bridge over the river Glaslyn. This small hamlet is reputed to be named after the hound Gelert, famous for the legend of being found covered in the blood of his masters infant, and duly killed. Only for it to be discovered later, the blood was from a wolf that attacked the infant, and Gelert had protected him. His master never recovered from slaying his faithfull dog, and was said to have never smiled again. A beautiful tale!
