Description
Pictured is the inscribed granite dedication marker for the memorial to the September 11, 2001 attacks in Washington Irving Memorial Park in Bixby, Oklahoma. A 26-foot twisted I-beam that used to be a part of the World Trade Center Twin Towers is the centerpiece of the memorial that also has several inscribed granite markers with timelines. Bill Pittman with the help of the Friends of Irving Foundation were responsible for the creation of the monument in 2002. The twisted beam is now sits in a beautiful flower bed with a patriotic wreath and small American flags.
