The Lincoln Memorial located at one of the horizontal ends of the National Mall in Washington D.C., United States, is a memorial created to honor the memory of President Abraham Lincoln. The building is shaped like a Greek Doric temple, and has a large sculpture of a seated Abraham Lincoln and inscriptions from two of Lincoln's well-known speeches. Many important speeches have taken place at this monument, including Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech, which was given on August 28, 1963 during the rally at the end of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
