Bumblebee Resting on a Pink Japanese Anemone Flower #293927291
Description
Eriocapitella hupehensis, or the Japanese Anemone, is a species of flowering plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae, native to Asia. Their bright yellow centers and stamen attract the Bumblebee, in the Bombus genus of bees, and the family Apidae. Named 'bumble', meaning to hum, buzz, or drone. Bumblebees are exceptional pollinators and often rest or sleep on a flower overnight. Some plants rely on Bumblebees for pollination so they are essential to our ecosystem. Bumblebees are the only North American bee that is social and has annual colonies.
