The historical Paramount Theater is located on Cypress Street in downtown Abilene, Texas. The theater opened in May of 1930 with the film "Safety in Numbers". The seating capacity is 1,187 and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on Dec 27, 1982. It was built by a Mr. Wooten adjacent to his Hotel Wooten which is currently an apartment building.
