Description
In the village of Dolná Lehota near the Krpá?ovo recreation area, there is a monument to the Slovak National Uprising. The statue commemorating the events of World War II is also declared a national cultural monument. The Memorial to the 2nd Czechoslovak Parachute Brigade was built in this place in 1976, because the army withdrew to the surrounding mountains after defending Banská Bystrica. The three parachutes were designed by academic sculptor and painter Mr. Jaroslav Kubi?ka.
