Description
a robin of medium size having a wide white wingbar extending from the tip of the wing to the shoulder. Keep an eye out for the white outertail feathers, especially when flying. The females have grayish brown and white plumage, while the males have black and white. Juveniles have scaly heads and upperparts, but otherwise resemble females. They can mimic the melodies of different birds and have a good repertoire of calls. The call that is most frequently heard at dawn is a whistle. Most frequently observed singing while perched exposed high. Gardens, open forests, and cultivated regions are common places to see these birds.
