Description
This beautiful structure is the Comal County Courthouse located in the county seat, New Braunfels, TX. The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976 and became a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1993.The architect is James Riley Gordon who designed a total of 18 Texas Courthouses. The building was built with native limestone, pink granite columns and a slate roof and is of Romanesque Revival style. A total restoration was completed in 2013. The tower seen in the photo is 83 feet tall but the bells weren't installed until 1976.
