Title
Striated bluffs along the southern ridge leading to Scotts Bluff pass #296602562
Description
Different rock layers forming the ridge with few plants able to grow because of the steepness and low rainfall. Deep gullies in the foreground are typical of the area and would have been bypassed when the Oregon trail was established. Prairie grasses provided necessary food for horses and oxen used to pull the wagons. Clouds from an overnight thunderstorm are clearing blue skies are beginning to show.
