Description
The greater ani (Crotophaga major) is a bird in the cuckoo family. It is sometimes referred to as the black cuckoo. Nariva Swamp is accessible by kayak or dinghy in the wet season or on foot in the dry season with Nariva Swamp Eco tours. This internationally protected forest reserve is Trinidadâs largest mangrove freshwater wetland, located behind lush coconut groves. Within the swamp, there is the Bush Bush Wildlife Sanctuary, home to more than 200 species of birds and animals. The most rare and critically endangered white-fronted Capuchin monkey can be foud here.
