Description
According to legend, the city of Rome was founded in 753 BC on the banks of the Tiber. At the background the Mausoleum of Hadrian, usually known as Castel Sant' Angelo or Castle of the Holy Angel, a towering cylindrical building that was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family, later used by the popes as a fortress and castle, and is now a museum. In the front the Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II.
