mountain landscapes of abkhazia #297962876
Description
You can often hear the opinion that Abkhazia is the most beautiful region of Georgia. It lies between the Greater Caucasus Main Range and the coast, where the mountains descend steeply to the Black Sea.Unfortunately, Abkhazia is currently a destroyed and depopulated region, controlled by the self-proclaimed regime and Russian troops (acting under the guise of CIS peacekeeping forces). The unregulated status, tense political situation, economic ruin and landmines are factors that should effectively discourage potential tourists. Relative safety and good conditions for recreation are available only in the northern part of Abkhazia, i.e. between the city of Sukhumi and the Georgian-Russian border. In these areas, the war damage was limited, and for the last three years a large stream of Russian investments has been flowing here.
