Leatherback sea turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) portret in the morning. Unique of Grande Riviere are the hundreds of leatherback turtles that emerge every night from the sea from March to September to lay their eggs. Later in the season, one can also enjoy watching hatchlings surface from the sand, making their way to the sea. Grande Riviere is a rural village situated on the north coast of Trinidad. It gets its name from the large river which runs through it flowing into the Caribean sea.
