The Sea Hibiscus leaves are heart-shaped with pointed tip and finely serrated-margins, dark green above covered with fine whitish hairs below, spirally arranged along stem. Leaves are eaten, femented into a sauce used as a substrate for tempeh starter culture or boiled in salt water to form a beverage called Onge tea.
