Spectacular carvings on the walls of a step well in India #299414206
Description
This is one of a kind step Wells which is built like an inverted temple. This was built in the 11th century by a queen. This gave name to this place and it is called Rani ki vav. Later the queen covered this entire step well with sand to protect it from the Mughal and British invaders. These carvings demonstrate how women in that era dressed up. The pattern of sari shown in these carvings is famous till date as Patola saris.
