Joint security area at DMZ in Korea #300199552
Description
The Korean Demilitarized Zone & x28;DMZ& x29; is a heavily fortified border that separates North and South Korea. Established as a result of the Korean War armistice in 1953, the DMZ is approximately 250 kilometers long and 4 kilometers wide. It serves as a buffer zone, and access to the area is highly restricted. The Joint Security Area & x28;JSA& x29; within the DMZ is known for hosting diplomatic talks and is one of the few points where North and South Korean forces stand face-to-face. The DMZ is a significant geopolitical and historical landmark on the Korean Peninsula.
