The Presidential Office Building of the Republic of China is located in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, Taiwan. It is the office of the President, Vice President and Presidential Palace of the Republic of China. The Government of the Republic of China also holds a flag-raising ceremony here every New Year s Day and National Day. Completed in 1919, the architectural style is Tatsuno Kingo style and it is a national monument of the Republic of China. It was originally used as the Taiwan Governor-General s Palace during the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. It was an important political center in Taiwan and a national monument.
