In the historic centre of Florence, Italy, there are about 150 wine windows, some of them hidden or walled up, called âBuchette del vinoâ (little hole of wine). In 1634 The Black Death or Plague is in the city of Florence, wine is sold without direct contact between client and seller. Centuries later, during Coronavirus emergency, who were lucky enough to have wine holes inside their shop, started using them again to serve glasses of wine, cups of coffee, or ice cream all germ-free and contactless. Florenceâs buchette del vino enjoy now a new renaissance, international travellers knock on the wooden doors or ring metal bells to have a drink and even Stanley Tucci talked about them in his show on cnn.
