Lions Club Park Carpinteria California 33 #301069187
Description
The Lions Club was first formed in Chicago in 1917 by area businessman Melvin Jones in the wake of the end of WW1, when he invited other businessman from around the country to come out to discuss what they can actually do about the new social problems from the rapid rise of industrialization. The Lions Club has since spread throughout the rest of the country, and around the world. In 1927, a group was started in Carpinteria California. In 1962, when the Carpinteria Unified School District declared a small parcel of land surplus, this local group got together and bought the two acre parcel to create this beautiful Lions Club Park. This park is freely open to all, as are the meeting rooms with reservation. As enjoyed 28 September 2023.
