The Temple of the Sun Korikancha, also known as Coricancha, is an ancient Incan temple located in the heart of Cusco, Peru. It was the most sacred temple in the Inca Empire, dedicated to Inti, the Sun God.After the Spanish conquest of the Inca Empire in the 16th century, the temple of Coricancha was largely destroyed. The Spanish built the Santo Domingo Church on the temple's foundations, incorporating some of the original Inca walls and structures.
