palace gardens in kock #301309687
Description
The palace garden in Kock was commissioned by Fr. Anna Jab?onowska. It was a botanical garden at European level. The park was arranged during the reconstruction of the palace in the style of an early English park. Szymon Bogumi? Zug was also the author of the development of the green areas around the palace. The romantic scenery of the park included fashionable elements referring to antiquity: random ruins of temples with the remains of colonnades, a round turret with the inscription "Apollo, God of Sciences, God of Light, gives gifts to his country." Outside the western gallery, Zug placed a birdcage. There were 590 species of shrubs and trees in the Kocki park, including North American plants from Florida, Carolina and Canada. There was also an orangery and greenhouses with flowers in the garden.
