Description
Built in 1907 as the San Francisco Fire Department Union Hall, with a growing need for mental health and rehab treatment facilities brought on by the replacing of long care facilities, what is called Deinstitutionalization, created a need for more community based care facilities. Progress Foundation, which opened in this now former Fire Department Union Hall in 1969 has taken over these needs and so successfully it has spread across the Bay too, serving a combined total of over four thousand five hundred people annually. And the list of situations they help people with has grown, too. This building is now their Administration Building. As seen 21 December 2023.
