The story about the Yangmingshan American Club: The Korean War broke out on June 25, 1950. In order to prevent the expansion of communist power in Asia, the United States began stationing troops in Taiwan. The U.S. military advisory group took care of the U.S. military officers stationed in Taiwan and selected Shanzihou and Tianmu in Yangmingshan as sites for building U.S. military dormitories. The government then ordered the Bank of Taiwan to carry out land acquisition and construction operations.Shanzaihou means the back of the mountain. It was still a farmland at that time. Because of its quiet environment and independent location, it was favored by the US military. It built the largest military community in Taiwan at that time and the residents had the highest ranking.
