Description

Pyrostegia venusta is a climbing shrub of the family Bignonaceae with three-lobed tendrils. There are three leaves, the leaflets are ovate to ovate-elliptic, 5 to 7.5 cm long, the apex is acuminate, and the base is wedge-shaped. The panicle is terminal, the calyx is tubular, the corolla is orange-red, about 6 cm long, the mouth is enlarged, the lobes are 5, curved downward, and there are white hairs on the edge. The capsule is linear, up to 30 cm long, and the seeds have membranous wings. It is the best material for green corridors and scaffolding, and can also be used as fences and walls, or even as a covering for roofs, canopies, walls and floors. Firecracker flowers have clusters of flowers that look like firecrackers in series, hence the name.
