Saint Fins Monastery (Valença Do Minho ) Stock Photo

Spectacular 12th century Romanesque monastery hidden among the centuries-old trees of a native forest in the middle of a hillside. It is in ruins, but the height of the wall alone is surprising and makes clear the importance it must have had in its times of splendor in the past. The church is in good condition, although it is empty inside. The rest of the complex is in a state of abandonment, but you can tour all the rooms and get an idea of what it was like.
