USA, Arizona: Blooming Utah Agave #30226598
Description
At the end of March the Sonoran desert is in full bloom. The Utah Agave (Nevada agave/Kaibab agave) is an uncommon plant in this desert. This is a rosette-shaped agave having blue-green sharp-spiked leaves. The raceme inflorescence is very tall, reaching a maximum of four meters. It is generally yellow or yellow-green with bulbous yellow flowers. The fruits are capsules 1 to 3 centimeters long and containing black seed (adapted/qoted from Wikipedia); behind the agave: a paloverde tree (also blooming); some Brittlebush flowers visible on the right.
