From the top of Signal Mountain at 7700 feet above sea level , the view of the Tetons appears as a ridge line above Jackson Lake. The Signal mountain slopes are covered with a dense stand of pine and spruce timber and almost obscure the valley below the ridge. A thick haze from the smoke of Canadian wildfires is evident on the horizon above the peaks.
