Description
This assay office is part of the Western Apacheland Studios built in 1959. A fire destroyed most of the buildings in 1969, but this building (also the barn in the background) remained. They were transported to a new location and are now part of Superstition Mountain Museum in Central Arizona. An assayer is a a specialists in testing and analyzing precious metals; a smelter oven for gold and silver on the left, an acetylene gas generator on the right.
