Sandhill Cranes Flying Toward A Roosting Area. Stock Photo

A flock of Cranes flying through the late afternoon sky from a cornfield where they had been feeding toward an area to roost in. The sky over Goose Pond Wildlife area in western Indiana has shades of pink and gold as the December sun slips below the clouds on the horizon. Some of the colors are a result of smokey residue from Canadian forest fires.
