Pictured is a 19th to 20th century granary charm carved in the form of a mother nursing her infant on display in The Dallas Museum of Art in Dallas, Texas. It was carved from wood by the Iban people of Sarawak, Malaysia. The Iban used charms in various ways to protect their staple food, rice. This charm was originally wrapped in a cloth and placed within a rice storage bin inside the longhouse.
