This statue is located in Everman Park in downtown Abilene, Texas, which is known as the Storybook Capital of American. The park contains statues from Dr. Suess books as well as a fountain and attracts events, photographers, and children of all ages. The railroad tracks are just beyond the wall in the background, but there are no passenger stops in Abilene anymore. The statue comes from the book Santa Calls written by William Joyce.
