Description
The Swat Valley fell to Islamic Taliban militants for a few years until 2009. Following a hard fought military campaign, the Pakistan Army regained control of the valley. As part of its rehabilitation program, the army started a deradicalization program for former Taliban members. Here a group of former Taliban members attend a lecture at an army facility located inside the former Pakistan-Austrian Institute for Tourism and Hotel Management (Paithom) at Gulibagh (Swat).
