Sullivanville Watershed Dam natural reed brush duck nest #306388224
Description
Sullivanville Watershed Dam near Horseheads in NYS Southern Tier in Chemung County is stocked for fishing. Originally constructed for flood control, the 25-acre impoundment along Newtown Creek is also home to largemouth bass, bluegills, crappies and bullheads. Parts of the reservoir tend to get quite weedy in the summer months, but some of the best fishing is in late April and May, before the weeds take over. It has a hiking trail, featuring access to the 20 acre lake, three successions of forest and a visible glacial plate. Sullivanville Dam trail is a 1.4 mile loop trail for hiking, walking, and nature trips.
